In early 2008 Wayne took early retirement from his position as an attorney and senior executive at a major health care organization in the San Francisco Bay Area and relocated to London to enter into a civil partnership with his long-term partner. In April 2008 Wayne and his partner purchased a new home in Laverstock, a village across the Bourne River, from the historic cathedral city of Salisbury, England. This blog is about his reflections on his new life in Salisbury and will reflect his wide-ranging interests in subjects such as politics and current affairs, gardening and nature, country walking, travel, classical and popular culture, and family and friends.

Well done! Reading your blog was the best thing that I did today regarding the 4th. Unfortunately, – from a patriotic point of view – I was forced to spend most of the day in a car dealership concluding the paperwork on the purchase of a new car. I am pleased with the car but sorry it interfered so much with the 4th. I hope you got the opportunity to lay on a towel and feel the surf!
I’ll be checking you our regularly! I’m glad you are getting to do what you wanted to do!
